Canadian Dressage Investments is a small syndicate formed in 2001 to acquire and maintain top quality horses for Liz Steacie to develop and compete. The first acquisition was the 1997 Hannoverian mare "Mikayla". In January of 2003, the syndicate acquired the 1996 Hannoverian gelding "Taliesan". Both these young horses have already shown their talent and suitability for the upper levels, and have great promise for the future. Both Mikayla and Taliesan were approved by Christilot Boylen into the Dressage Canada developing Horse Program, and both have extensive and successful show records at the Basic Level.
If you are interested in owning a share in the future, email for more details! Shares are reasonably priced, and you have the option of purchasing a share in either or both horses.
Mikayla:
1997 Hannoverian mare, 16.0hh, by Mattgold out of Wyoming by Wendland. Red bay, three white socks and a large star. Elastic, expressive movement and superb natural balance and self-carriage. In her first year of competition, as a four year old, Mikayla earned several championships, including a Winners Circle Series Championship, and the Open Basic Championship at Blainville. In 2002, Mikayla continued her winning ways and was Basic Open Reserve Champion at Blainville, Ontario Open Basic 3 Champion, and Eastern Ontario Reserve Champion in the FEI 5 Year Old Test.
Mikayla will show in the Open Third Level division and the FEI 6 year old test in 2003.
Taliesan:
1996 Hannoverian gelding, 17.1hh, by Tannenhein out of Waverley by World Cup IV. Dark bay, three white socks and a small star. An elegant topline, magnificent self-carriage and precise, correct movement. In Taliesan's first year of competition, he garnered top marks and placings at Basic 3 and 4, as well as in the FEI 5 Year Old Test. In 2002, Taliesan was very lightly campaigned in Medium 1 and 2, and had one outing in the FEI 6 Year Old Test, which he won. He is currently schooling all the movements in the Prix St. George with ease and confidence, and we expect that he will make his debut in 2003 at the Advanced Level.
